Penn-Hu-Mac-Par Lecturer 2011 |

Each year the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists sponsors the Penn-Hu-Mac-Par Lecture. The Lecture series was established in 1966 to pay tribute to three members of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists who have served their profession as president of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. In 1990, the Ohio Society honored its fourth member who served as national president. These technologists are:
Rubygrant Pennell, R.T., 1954 W. Jay Huston, R.T., 1961 Roland C. McGowan, R.T., 1964 Joan Parsons, R.T., 1989
Selection as the Penn-Hu-Mac-Par lecturer is one of the highest honors bestowed upon an individual by the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Do You know someone that deserves to Be Technologist of the Year?
In 1973, the OSRT Board of Directors established the Technologist of the Year Award to be presented at each Annual Meeting.
The 2010 OSRT Technologist of the Year is pictured below. There were no nominations for the award of 2011.

OSRT Technologist of the Year Award Rules
Who may nominate? Any OSRT active member may electronically submit a nominee application.
Eligible nominees must meet this criteria:
- Be a current member in good standing with a minimum of at least six years OSRT membership.
- Be credentialed and in good standing for at least six years with: ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB.
- Have served the OSRT as an officer, editor, committee chair or committee member.
- Must be present at the OSRT Annual Meeting Honors Banquet.
Note: Previous winners are not eligible as a nominee.
To nominate a qualified candidate: Complete and submit the electronic application form by February 1. The membership will vote on nominees through the Cardinal Rays ballot process. OSRT Educational and Research Foundation Grants |

The OSRT Education and Research Foundation annually awards educational grants. Donations to the Foundation are appreciated and can be made online through this Web site by clicking the OSRT Foundation link on the left of the Home page.
OSRT Education and Research Foundation Grant Award Eligibility and Submission Criteria
OSRT Education and Research Foundation Grants are awarded on the basis of merit, academic ability and financial need. All requirements and application submission must be met by February 1.
Eligibility OSRT Education and Research Foundation Grant applicants may be registered or student technologists who must be a member of OSRT at the time of application and at the time of the Annual Meeting. The Honors and Awards Committee will verify OSRT membership upon receipt of all grant applications.

Registered Technologist Category Registered technologist applicants must be registered in good standing with ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCB or the MDCB. Technologists must be currently enrolled in an advanced degree program and must have completed a minimum of two quarters or one semester. Transcripts must be in PDF file format and must be uploaded as part of the online grant application process.
Student Technologist Category Student technologist applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited program and must have completed a minimum of two quarters or one semester Transcripts must be in PDF file format, must include the student’s program director’s signature and must be uploaded as part of the online grant application process.
Grade Point Average Requirement Any OSRT Education and Research Foundation Grant applicant must demonstrate a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale or a 3.75 on a 5.0 point scale.
Application Submission and Deadline Date To be considered for the OSRT Education and Research Foundation Grant Award, through the OSRT Web site, all applications must be accurately completed and electronically submitted along with the uploaded transcript (PDF file format only) by the deadline of February 1.

Francine Todd Memorial Occupational Radiation Safety and Protection Research Grant |

The purpose of this grant is to develop knowledge through investigation and/or research, which can be used to minimize or prevent occupational radiation exposure by the application of a new or improved procedure, method, technique, system or education.
The grant award amount is determined annually by the OSRT Education and Research Foundation Board. The submission deadline is February 1.
