According to Richard S. Angulo, Chair of AEIRS Networking Committee, on February 8, 2017, the West Virginia Senate introduced a bill – Senate Bill 195 – that will eliminate the state’s licensing board for medical imaging professionals. Since there is no provision in the law for transferring the licensing responsibility to any other state agency, it is presumed that if/when this bill is passed, the state will no longer license medical imaging professionals.

West Virginia technologists are asking their peers from around the country for help in opposing this bill. Those interested in helping should review the Bill's Status and Introduction. Please act without delay, including contacting colleagues and friends who reside in West Virginia and urging them to join in opposing the bill.

Further information about this matter-- posted to the ASRT Communities pages by Virginia “Ginny” Lester, R.B.A, R.T. Thank you for your continuing support and collaborative efforts to strengthen our field and move it forward.
