. The Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists is so committed to student
involvement and has instituted a similar intern program. The OSRT Officers and Directors strongly believe that students are the leaders of the future and the OSRT has a responsibility to cultivate them now.The
major difference between the ASRT and OSRT Student Intern programs is that ASRT student interns only serve during the ASRT Annual Conference. Students selected for the OSRT Student Intern Program serve for one
full year – from Annual Meeting to Annual Meeting (April to April). The prolonged service period for OSRT student interns should facilitate strong relationships, a fundamental understanding of organizational
operations, enhanced leadership skills, and hopefully a commitment to continued service to the profession.
OSRT student interns are assigned to shadow an officer, a committee chairperson, or a contracted staff member.
Shadow experience is designed to offer opportunities to gain organizational and professional insights and provides a mechanism for valuable input on health policy issues, educational issues, and organizational
operations that affect all medical imaging and radiotherapeutic students and professionals in Ohio.
OSRT Student Interns receive complimentary OSRT student membership, an annual meeting registration, a
ticket to the Honors Banquet at the Annual Meeting, and an OSRT shirt (or two) in recognition as an OSRT Student Intern.
