Penn-Hu-Mac-Par-Gill Lecture 2018

Each year the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists sponsors the Penn-Hu-Mac-Par Lecture. The Lecture series was established in 1966 to pay tribute to three members of the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists who have served their profession as president of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. In 1990, the Ohio Society honored its fourth member who served as national president. In 2015, the Ohio Society honored its fifth member who served as national president. These technologists are:

Rubygrant Pennell, R.T., 1954
W. Jay Huston, R.T., 1961
Roland C. McGowan, R.T., 1964
Joan Parsons, R.T., 1989
Julie Gill, R.T., 2014

Selection as the Penn-Hu-Mac-Par-Gill Lecturer is one of the highest honors bestowed upon an individual by the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Heather Moore, M.Ed., R.T. (R)

Heather PHMPG

Heather Moore graduated from Lima Technical College with an Associate’s Degree, majoring in Radiologic Technology in 1990. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at The Ohio State University and her Master of Education from the University of Cincinnati. She is currently near completion of her Doctoral degree in Educational Studies.

Heather has been employed by the University of Cincinnati since 2004, and is currently an Associate Professor and the Program Director of the Radiologic Technology program. She teaches a wide variety of courses and is active in departmental committees. Heather has presented at the local, state, national and international levels on a variety of topics.

Heather is a member of the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Science and has served on the membership and mentoring committees. She has also served on and chaired the Educational Resources Committee. Also at the national level, Heather is a long time member of the ASRT. For that organization, she has served on several committees as well as being elected as Education and Radiography Chapter Delegates. She was also the Radiography Chapter Steering committee Chair from 2010-2012.

Heather is a valued member of the OSRT! She has served on or chaired various committees including the Quiz Bowl Committee, the Public Relations Committee, the Honors and Awards Committee, and an Annual Meeting Committee. She has served on the Board of Directors, and as President-elect, President, Junior Board Chair, and Senior Board Chair. She has also served on the OSRT Education and Research Foundation Board as a Director, Vice Chair, and Board Chairperson. We are very fortunate to have Heather as a member of the OSRT. Heather's lecture is titled Cursive Optional.

And now, please welcome the 2018 (year) Penn-Hu-Mac-Par-Gill lecturer, Heather Moore.
