The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) welcomes input from imaging informatics professionals on the proposed Test Content Outline (TCO) for its Certified Imaging Informatics Professionals (CIIP) test. You need not be certified through ABII, but you need to be working in the profession. The TCO identifies areas to cover on the test, and weights them according to importance.The content specifications only include topics that link directly to one or more activities from tasks performed by imaging informatics professionals.
In March 2017, an online survey of possible tasks was created by the ABII Practice Analysis Advisory Committee (composed of subject matter experts from throughout the nation) and made available to imaging informatics professionals for comment. In November 2017, the committee reviewed the practice analysis comments and proposed changes to the TCO. The committee will review the comments for possible changes and submit the TCO to the ABII Board of Trustees.The revised TCO has a scheduled implementation date of March 1, 2019.
