MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: DEVIN JOHNSON, BSRT, RT(R)(MR)(CT)
How long have you been involved in medical imaging? What is/was your role?
I've been a registered R.T.(R) since 2008. I've worked in multiple fields in medical imaging, primarily in MRI. I completed my MRI registry in 2010 and my CT registry in 2015 earning the new credentials R.T.(R)(MR(CT). I've held multiple roles including staff technologist, clinical preceptor, radiation safety officer, clinical coordinator, and I now serve as the Program Director/Full-Time Faculty for the Cleveland Clinic School of Health Professions - Mercy Radiologic Technology Program.
Why did you join the OSRT?
I initially joined the OSRT in 2021 when there was a director vacancy on the Board of Directors. I hoped to connect with other educators who could help mentor me as a new faculty member. Since then, I can truly say that I've found the most amazing x-ray family with everyone I've met and worked with while serving on the Board of Directors.
Why do you continue to renew your OSRT membership?
I continue to renew my membership because of the phenomenal value the OSRT adds to my life both professionally and collaboratively with other technologists and educators. The OSRT events make obtaining your CEs the most rewarding way possible, with friends and peers.
What is your favorite thing about being an OSRT member?
My favorite thing about being an OSRT member is the people that I get to directly work with and advocating for our profession. Being able to have a voice at the state-level means so much to me personally, and I care so deeply about our imaging community here in Ohio.
What would you tell your younger self about your career?
Don't doubt yourself and your own abilities. You are capable of more than you could ever imagine, and you should be so proud of how far you've come.
