Tiff Lin Paul wThe 3rd annual OSRT Student and Educator Symposium (SES) was a huge success! Educators and students from 8 states attended the SES held at the Ohioan Hotel and Conference Center in Lewis Center, Ohio. An "Educators Gathering" took place on Wednesday evening to begin the conference, followed by continuing education sessions through Thursday and Friday.

The meeting kicked off with the Denise Moore Honorary Lecture presented by keynote speaker Eric Charlton. His presentation focused on harnessing your happiness while connecting motivation, purpose, and gratitude. Eric Charleston DM Honorary Lect wThe A track for educators focused on Artificial Intelligence in the teaching and learning process. AI topics were presetned by Kevin Clark who traveled to OSRT from University of Texas, MD Anderson. The Roy Bell Memorial Luncheon was sponsored by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. Devin Johnson presented the difficult task of how to navigate an abrupt loss of leadership in a radiography program.AI Lecture w

An all-day student education track included content review topics like, patient care and mangement, equipment operations, and procedures. The Philip W. Ballinger Student Assessment Exam topped off the afternoon for 290 second-year students who completed the exam. Congratualtions to Amanda Koons, from Columbus State Community College, who won the award for the highest score earned.

All in all, there were 14 speakers, 23 vendors, and over 533 attendees. A big thank you goes out to the 23 sponsors who offered employment opportunities, equipment demos, and merchandise. In addition, attendees showed up in mass to support OSRT's Blood Drive for the American Red Cross with a total of 73 pints donated!Angie Arnold Award

Of course, one of the prime attractions for the SES is the Quiz Bowl Competition. Eighteen teams competed. The competition ran all day Friday with 29 rounds of questions. It was a double elimination competition. Congratulations to 1st place winners, Columbus State Community College (pictured right) and to Central Ohio Technical College for 2nd place (pictured below). Good job to all who competed. It was an exciting competition! Congratulations to the winners and to all who competed.
